Tip 1: Strategic Planning

A good strategic plan provides a roadmap for the future, guiding activities, measuring progress and moving your business forward. It doesn’t however, have to be a long drawn out process that results in a weighty document that no-one ever sees again.

Tips:
- Get a good facilitator who can draw out the knowledge and expertise of your team;
- Involve some of your valued clients to get a temperature check on aligning your services with their needs, your delivery performance and raise new ideas and innovations with them;
- Make it short sharp and to the point;
- Put someone in charge of implementation with milestones/outcomes set as their KPIs;
- Regularly report on progress to your staff;
- Conduct a quarterly review to make any tweaks or when new opportunities arise;
- Make the success of the plan and the organisation part of everyone’s mission and genuinely seek input/feedback.
